ICK!

It's been a while since I've had to drive in the rain...at night....I forgot how much I hate it! We've had such a wonderful summer, I almost felt like I didn't live in Washington for a while! But I got a nice reminder. And well, it doesn't look like it will let up for a while....like until next June! BLAH! It was 2pm and I was starting dinner....because it was so dark I thought it was more like 5pm....then I realized that no one was home from work yet and well, cartoons were still on the TV....hmmmm...can I get July back PALEEEEEAAAZE!?!?!

Owen's 3rd Birthday Party!

So I cannot believe my little baby boy is 3! Well technically not until Monday, but who likes Monday birthday parties? And well Owen has been counting down the days...I'm sure he would have exploded if he had to wait two more days :)!So we started out the day with a big surprise!
He had no problem asking for more presents when he was done.

His first Choo-choo train! He loves it so much...all morning I heard Chugga chugga chugga choo choo! So cute!
And Owen's first calendar from "T"(Vicky) It was Blue's Clues...who knew that after three years he would still love that Blue Puppy dog and dorky 30 year old man singing in the T.V!?

So Owen asked for a Pirate Cake for his Birthday...I figured I would take a stab at making my own cake...I'm actually proud of the outcome! And it was delicious! Thank you Betty crocker ;) The bakery manager at Fred Meyer gave me the black gel frosting and the idea of the chocolate gold coins....I came up with the rest. And yes that yellow square is supposed to be a treasure chest :)
Chuck e cheese! Wow it was loud and insane, but so much fun to watch Owen. He didn't know quite what to make of it all when we walked in.
He was scared of the sharks! Jim and I ended up playing the game, but then Madalin showed up and she showed him how to have fun!
Jungle gym....

Games, games, games! Oh my goodness! We got there at 2pm and left at 5:30pm!
Spoiled boy got his own Black and Decker tool set Drill and all! A pet Dinosaur, baseball/bat,drawing kit, and so much more!

Later the kids decided to play with the TV they had set up for kids...

it was so cute to watch them dance!

Samantha had to get in on that too ;)

With Vicky's help :)

And this is the aftermath :) He crashed so hard and well so did Vicky apparently! Now all Owen talks about it Chuck E Cheese....Games and Birthday Cake....And I'm sure I'll be hearing about it for the next two weeks.

So it's the end of summer.....

That doesn't mean it's the end of fun....Owen pesters us to go to the beach on a regular basis. So we thought we would take him out to Kayak Point out here, about 15 minutes away. The day started out perfect! Quiet beach, sunshine, and calm waters. But then......
Owen fell in....and Jim went in after him....It was more comical than not, let me tell ya. I had Samantha strapped to my front, so I was no help. I just held the camera and shot :)

Owen did so good! He instantly started doggy paddling and was able to keep his face out of the water. But frantic daddy fell in trying to get to him.

So this is round two at the beach!

Samantha is such a trooper being outside in the sunshine all day! We watched the sun set that day!

Natures perfect jungle gym!
Daddy was fishin...and Owen wanted to help him. So this is Owen's first fishing experience! He's obsessed...so much so he asked for "Owen's own fishing pole for his birthday!"

Nakey nakey! It's time to clean up little lady! :)
She loves her baths! And I love her bath contraption! Wish I had one like that for Owen!

At the end of the day...Owen's eggsausted! So much so...he slept at the foot of his bed!
I'm sure that Mom and Dad will recognize Samantha's toy....it was Owen's and well he still wants it apparently ;)

Samantha loves her tummy time! Those obnoxious toys sure come in handy that "T" (Vicky) bought for Owen....Samantha loves them....of course.

I don't recall this being taken...Uhummm.....Jim....But this is my desperate attempt at getting more sleep....just put the baby in bed with me in the morning!

Owen's first fort! He didn't want to take it down.

And as you can see neither did dad ;)...this, of course, was Jim's bright idea. But hey I remember having a blast making forts....I'm sure it drove mom nuts...but it's definitely a great way to entertain!

So this morning Owen saw a commercial on TV for Chuck e Cheese...I had no idea he knew what it was. I had already planned his 3rd Birthday party at Chuck e Cheese....But when that commercial came on, he started jumping up and down and screaming, "MOM! BIRTHDAY PARTY AT CHUCK E CHEESE FOR OWEN???!!!" I was taken back a bit...he amazes me with what he knows everyday! And so needless to say I was patting myself on my back for already having that all set for him. Of course he thinks we should go today. But he has 10 more days till the party. So I thought let's make a paper ring chain to pull one off everyday to count down for the big day. So this is Owen's first experience with scissors. It was hilarious! Every time he opened the scissors, he opened his mouth! And then when he closed the scissors...he closed his mouth! I have video...I should probably post it.
And this is milk mustache cutie helping us with our project. It's so nice being home with these two! I hate to go back to work, but the economy says I have to :(....Oh well hopefully only for a year and then I'm home!
Because...come on....watching Owen's first high heels experience is, well, absolutely hilarious!!

Owen's Beach

If you can't tell, Owen LOVES being at the Ocean. Just this afternoon he asked if he went to bed and then said goodmorning if we could go to the beach :o)

Owen's first horse ride! As you can see he had a blast! It was really nice of the lady to just walk him around. They wanted 20$ for an hour. But Jim didn't want to be gone that long, so he asked about a quick walk around in a circle for 5$. He didn't hesitate to hop on. Owen tells me all the time that "Owen rode a horse named Ben and he was brown."

And just a little piece of one of our sunsets in action. This is one of the few videos I was able to take without Samantha squeeling in the background or making the camera shake all over the place :o) Again we had a fabulous time and can't wait to go back!!!!!
